Although we may seem quite remote, there is lots to experience and do close by:
  • Enjoy a swim or a fish in the Kakanui River at Clifton Falls at the bottom of the Dunrobin Road (10km)
  • The Alps 2 Ocean bike track is not too far away as it passes through Windsor. We offer transportation from the bike track to the accommodation.
  • Close by in Duntroon, explore the amazing Elephant Rocks and Vanished World.
  • Oamaru is the Steam punk capital of the world and also boosts some amazing Victorian buildings and stores.  Be taken back in time at Whitestone City or take in the evening viewing of the little blue penguins coming ashore.  New Zealand's famed writer, Janet Frames childhood house has been preserved and can be viewed.  If you love cheese, a must visit is to the Whitestone Cheese Deli and Diner or take a cheese factory tour.  Or if whiskey is more your tipple, visit the NZ Whisky Collection. Oamaru also has a museum, art gallery, covered town pool and beautiful botanical public gardens.
  • A little further down the road, the mysterious Moeraki Boulders are an iconic sight to see.
  • And 75 minutes up the road in Omarama, the wondrous Clay Cliffs is a sight to behold or relax in the steaming hot tubs.
